  • The company is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their growing team.
  • The Data Engineer will own, prototype, and implement customer solutions.
  • Responsibilities include researching and prototyping data acquisition strategies for scientific lab instrumentation and file parsers for various instrument output files.
  • The role involves designing and building data models, Python data pipelines, unit tests, integration tests, and utility functions.
  • The Data Engineer will also build visualizations, reports, and dashboards using tools like Spotfire, Tableau, and Jupyter notebook.
  • The position requires working closely with customers to ensure solutions meet their requirements and managing customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in Python and SQL.
  • A passion for science and building solutions to make data more accessible to end-users is essential.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, a science background, or experience with scientific instruments is required.
  • Familiarity with tools like Spotfire, Tableau, and Jupyter notebook is necessary.
  • An undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence in project delivery are essential.
  • Candidates should be able to quickly understand highly technical products and effectively communicate with product management and engineering teams.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects are necessary.
  • Experience with AWS, Databricks, data pipelines, and Node Js is required.
  • An intellectually curious mindset and a drive to learn more every day are important.
  • Candidates should be able to think creatively about solving project risks.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Lakehouse, and Databricks architecture is preferred.
