Description:
Wealthfront is seeking a Data Engineer to help build and maintain the company’s core datasets.
The role involves collaborating with stakeholders across various departments including Engineering, Product, Data Science, Marketing, and Finance.
The Data Engineer will curate datasets required by data scientists, analysts, product managers, and business functions.
Responsibilities include modeling the business data layer, designing and deploying scalable data pipelines, and maintaining a data catalog of business entities.
The position emphasizes the importance of data quality, requiring vigilance and a quantitative focus on completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
The Data Engineer will manage reporting and dashboarding tools to transform data into meaningful insights and help define company-wide metrics with data quality checks.
The role includes building a data access layer on top of the data platform and becoming a subject matter expert in various areas of Wealthfront data.
The Data Engineer will work within a team to deliver high-quality implementations in the company’s scrum process.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4-6 years of experience designing and building metrics-focused deliverables in a data-driven, consumer-facing software company.
Expert-level SQL knowledge is required for manipulating data within MPP relational databases.
Deep knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is necessary.
Experience in big data processing using distributed processing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop Map Reduce is essential.
Familiarity with analytic reporting tools such as AWS Quicksight or Tableau is required.
Experience with product and marketing data tools like Amplitude, Iterable, or Braze is valuable.
Candidates should exhibit professional qualities such as being analytic, a great communicator, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field is required.

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $170,000 - $185,000 USD, plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
