Description:

  • As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in harnessing behavioral data collected from various platforms to convert them into advertising data solutions and actionable insights.
  • You will work closely with data scientists and big data developers to create innovative solutions for advertising clients and apply machine learning to optimize their campaigns.
  • The position is remote, but only candidates currently located in Canada and eligible to work will be considered.
  • The role requires working in East Standard Hours.
  • Daily tasks include working with Big Data and analytics systems such as Big Query, Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Spark, and Apache Airflow.
  • You will utilize hybrid cloud-based infrastructure to collect and process massive volumes of data.
  • Building data processing pipelines to create audience segments and integrating them with various DMP and DSP systems is essential.
  • You will brainstorm and create powerful visualizations to make data accessible and understandable.
  • Evaluating database solutions and helping to define the architecture and design of data delivery systems is part of the role.
  • You will contribute to development best practices and experiment with new ideas.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify creative solutions for data targeting and executing key products from concept to production is expected.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related quantitative field focused on data mining or machine learning is required.
  • Knowledge of SQL, MapReduce, and other Big Data languages and processing frameworks is necessary.
  • Experience designing and coding data pipelines in Python is essential.
  • An understanding of statistical and predictive modeling, machine learning approaches, and data pattern identification is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and machine learning packages such as pandas, jupyter, and TensorFlow is expected.
  • Knowledge of the advertising domain and its technology stack is a significant plus.
  • Candidates should have a passion for keeping up with the rapid evolution in the data world, be creative and innovative thinkers, and possess entrepreneurial initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills within a team and with clients are necessary.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
