Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• Engage in the data engineering community, providing advice, guidance, and tool recommendations to engineers in product teams
• Build and maintain integration pipelines for automated journeys
• Transform streaming data to meet target schemas
• Be part of an agile engineering team, influencing technology selection
• Establish good data engineering practices, including using infrastructure as code, automated testing strategies, monitoring tools, and CI/CD best practices
• Work with key stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions with high-quality data

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in designing, building, monitoring, and managing large-scale data products, pipelines, tooling, and platforms
• Proven track record as a Data Engineer, setting strategy and defining ways of working
• Experience with streaming ETL solutions using tools like Kafka Streams, Kinesis, Spark, etc.
• Experience developing cloud-based solutions on GCP, AWS, or Azure using Infrastructure as code tools
• Excellent knowledge of at least one programming language like Scala, Python, Typescript, Java, Kotlin
• Experience designing and building data pipelines using DataFusion/Dataform or similar
• Understanding of the importance of building quality software, automation, and continuous delivery
• Comfortable working in an agile software development environment with CI/CD and deployment strategies
• Adaptability, flexibility, and clear communication skills
• Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or equivalent
