Ripjar is a UK-based software company focused on using data and machine learning technologies to prevent financial crimes and terrorism.
The company has two main products: Labyrinth Screening and Labyrinth Intelligence, which help organizations monitor and investigate data.
The Data Engineer role involves working with engineering teams responsible for the processing infrastructure and analytics of data.
The Data Collection Hub is central to Ripjar’s systems, capturing, processing, and analyzing data from various sources.
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of industrial or commercial experience in data processing systems and be a thoughtful problem solver.
The role requires fluency in at least one programming language and a curiosity for learning new technologies.
The technology stack includes Python (specifically pyspark), Node.js, Hadoop stack technologies, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Airflow, Nifi, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Github, and Ansible.

Requirements:

Candidates must be fluent in at least one programming language and have a minimum of two years of experience working with moderately complex software systems in production.
Experience with Python (specifically pyspark) and Node.js for data processing is required.
Familiarity with Hadoop stack technologies such as HDFS and HBase is necessary.
Experience with MongoDB and Elasticsearch for indexing smaller datasets is beneficial.
Knowledge of Airflow and Nifi for coordinating data processing is advantageous.
Candidates should be able to understand complex systems and effectively communicate the implications of changes.

The salary is dependent on experience.
