Description:
The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for the CDC Foundation, specifically aligned with the Workforce Acceleration Initiative (WAI).
This position is remote and requires candidates to be based in the United States.
The salary range for this role is $103,500-$143,500 per year, with individual offers based on experience and qualifications.
The position is grant funded and is a limited-term opportunity ending on June 30, 2026.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining data pipelines, managing relational and non-relational databases, and applying data modeling techniques.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with various teams to gather requirements, ensure understanding among developers, and facilitate user training and change management.
The role involves utilizing analytics software for data interpretation and visualization, and leading requirements gathering sessions.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or computer engineering is required; an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience is required.
Experience in writing Use Cases to document requirements is necessary.
Candidates must have experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and leading them through continuous delivery.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and change management principles is essential.
Candidates should have experience using data to make decisions and improving outcomes through data insights.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary, and experience working in a virtual environment is preferred.
