Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• Seeking a talented and experienced Virtual Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for data analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
• Responsible for implementing ETL processes, database management, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of data systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models, build data warehouses, and optimize data processing pipelines.
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance with data governance policies and privacy regulations.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and proactively recommend updates and enhancements to data systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in data engineering roles with expertise in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Java, and experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Airflow.
• Solid understanding of database systems, data modeling, and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with cloud-based data services and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field preferred.
• Availability to work during US business hours with flexibility for occasional meetings or project milestones outside standard hours.
