Description:
The Data Engineer role at Awin is crucial for leveraging data across the group to enhance commercial decisions and campaign management.
Responsibilities include collecting, sanitizing, cleansing, transforming, and consolidating data for analysis and reporting.
The position requires writing clean, high-quality code that is easy to understand and maintain.
The role involves understanding data extraction, transformation, and storage methodologies, applying experience in scripting, SQL, and OLTP/OLAP databases.
Daily operations of the data warehouse will be managed, collaborating with a global team of data engineers, analysts, and reporting teams.
Key tasks include writing maintainable code, troubleshooting data transformation errors, presenting findings to stakeholders, creating Azure pipelines, adding data points to existing sources, and ensuring data quality and report accuracy.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field with a focus on data engineering or analytics is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a data warehouse developer or data engineer, with proficiency in Python or similar languages.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data engineering pipelines is essential.
Excellent knowledge of database and dimensional modeling technologies is required.
Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Python (NumPy, Pandas), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure SQL DB is necessary.
Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, Python, and PySpark is required.
Familiarity with scrum and Agile practices is preferred.
Proven communication and analytical skills are essential.
Experience in a big data environment and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks/libraries is preferred.
