Remote Data Engineer I

Description:

• The Data Engineer I role at Flashpoint involves creating and maintaining scalable code to address data needs.
• You will contribute to improving current software processes and create observability tooling for monitoring and debugging big data jobs and pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data and MLOps Engineers to develop and integrate data features and ML models.
• Assist and mentor other teams with Software development lifecycle best practices.
• Bring in new technologies and develop innovative approaches to data challenges.
• Apply honesty, strong morals, ethics, and a sense of responsibility to contribute to making Flashpoint smarter, stronger, and kinder.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Java or Scala is required for this role.
• Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle processes is necessary.
• Experience using Cloud data services is a must.
• Proficiency with Big Data and distributed processing systems like Spark, Beam, etc., is essential.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Apache Airflow is required.
• Ability to maintain high-level and technical documentation of data features for visibility across multiple departments.
• Continuously expand and improve the current data infrastructure.
• Enable new features and data requests across multiple stakeholders including Data Engineers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and Product teams.

• The base pay range for this position is $115,000/yr - $135,000/yr plus bonus.
