Description:
The Data Engineer II role at Bestow involves building robust solutions for transferring data between first and third-party applications and the data warehouse.
The position requires a strong focus on data quality and availability, collaborating with team members to drive resolutions.
Decision-making is a team effort, with a shared responsibility for maintaining and improving the solutions built.
Developing hardened and repeatable data models and pipelines using CI/CD to enable reporting, modeling, and machine learning.
Improving data availability for enterprise clients through various data sharing methods like push delivery, cloud, and event-driven approaches.
Ensuring data quality through automated monitoring, alerting, and occasional participation in an on-call rotation.
Leveraging Google Cloud (GCP) tools and services to bring data workloads to production.
Collaborating with product, engineering, stakeholders, and data teams to deliver solutions that meet platform and client needs.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in a data engineering role supporting incoming/outgoing feeds, analytics, and data science teams.
2+ years of Python or similar language experience for writing efficient, testable, and readable code.
Deep SQL experience with columnar databases like Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift.
Proficiency in designing end-to-end data pipelines in cloud frameworks (GCP, AWS, Azure) with input from multiple stakeholders.
Experience building CICD pipelines for data processing using tools like Docker, CircleCI, dbt, git, etc.
Ability to manage infrastructure using IAC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow to manage SLOs and processing dependencies.
Experience in building streaming/real-time ingestion pipelines and creating alerts and monitoring pipelines for data governance.
Knowledge of containerization, container orchestration technologies, and cloud architecture features.
Familiarity with IT security practices like IAM, data protection, encryption, and key management.
Willingness to learn new technologies and products as required.
Nice to have: Experience with data contracts, data lakes, and API development.
