Description:
The Data Engineer II position at Life360 involves contributing to enhancing and maintaining data processing and storage pipelines for a secure data lake.
The role requires managing ads data from ingestion through ETL to storage and batch processing.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data processing platforms for real-time analytics and exploratory data analysis.
The Data Engineer II will collaborate with ads analytics teams, automate data workflows, and champion data engineering best practices.
The position involves architecting logical and physical data models, developing systems for distributed real-time analytics, and acquiring and transforming data to derive new insights.
The role also entails working with cloud computing platforms like Databricks and AWS, job orchestration tooling like Airflow, and large-scale data processing using Spark and/or Presto/Trino.

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with high volume data infrastructure.
Proficiency in Python or Java programming languages.
Experience with cloud computing platforms like Databricks and AWS, job orchestration tooling like Airflow, and large-scale data processing using Spark and/or Presto/Trino.
Proficiency in SQL and ability to optimize queries.
Experience in data modeling, database design, and working with ads-related data systems.
Familiarity with modern development lifecycle practices, Agile methodology, CI/CD, and automated deployments.
Knowledge of the latest open source and data frameworks, modern data platform tech stacks, and tools.
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
