Description:

  • Kueski is a leading platform for buy now, pay later (BNPL) and online consumer credit in Latin America, aiming to improve financial lives in Mexico since 2012.
  • The Data Engineer II will develop complex data processing systems to support data consumers and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Key responsibilities include designing robust and scalable data-based solutions, developing complex data processing systems, creating CI/CD flows for automated production deployments, and applying data cleaning techniques to enhance data quality.
  • The role also involves providing guidance to others to strengthen their solutions through expertise.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must be able to transform requirements into functional software in production.
  • Collaboration in an interdisciplinary team is essential.
  • The ability to lead medium to high complexity projects that may involve multiple iterations and different technologies is required.
  • Knowledge of a well-organized Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is necessary.
  • Understanding of how non-functional requirements are part of solution delivery is important.
  • The candidate should be able to design, implement, test, and deploy production-ready code.
  • Designing and implementing reliable solutions for data processing problems is required.
  • Experience in designing, building, and debugging Spark-based applications is necessary.
  • Collaboration with data consumers to apply large-scale data analysis and machine learning techniques is expected.
  • Strong technical knowledge in programming, preferably in Java and Python (Scala is a plus), is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in traditional SQL query development is necessary.
  • Experience with software design patterns and working with database engines is required.
  • Experience using distributed programming engines for data processing with Spark is necessary.
  • The candidate should have experience integrating, designing, and building data pipelines, as well as deploying and maintaining them in production.
  • Knowledge of AWS big data services such as S3, EC2, Glue, Athena, and EMR is required.
  • Advanced Spanish proficiency is mandatory.
