Description:

Mediavine is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their engineering team, focusing on solving interesting problems and collaborating with a small team of talented engineers.
The Data & Analytics team includes data analysts, data engineers, and analytics engineers, working to build effective platforms and tools for data-driven decision-making.
The Data Engineer will help build and maintain data infrastructure, create scalable data pipelines, manage transformation processes, and ensure data quality and security.
Responsibilities include creating data pipelines for analytic and application use cases, developing resilient processes, leading technical projects, supporting data analysts, participating in code reviews, and providing data modeling guidance.
The current data engineering toolkit includes custom Python data pipelines, AWS infrastructure, Rundeck scheduling, dbt for transformation, and Snowflake as the data warehouse platform.

Requirements:

Applicants must be based in the United States.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role.
Strong skills in Python and SQL are required, including understanding tradeoffs and optimization.
Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS, is necessary.
Candidates should understand how to structure data for analytics and have familiarity with API data retrieval.
Experience with DevOps for deploying and monitoring data infrastructure is required.
Scheduler experience, either traditional or DAG-based, is necessary.
Comfort with multi-TB cloud data warehouses, particularly Snowflake, is required.
Experience with other DBMS systems, especially Postgres, is necessary.
Nice to haves include experience with web analysis, Snowflake external stages, orchestration tools, dbt, Ad Tech knowledge, event tracking systems, and major BI tools.
