Description:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineer to join our fast-growing fintech company in Latin America.
As a Data Engineer Level 1, you will assist in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, working closely with senior data engineers and data scientists.
You will gain hands-on experience in data engineering best practices, tools, and technologies.

Key responsibilities include supporting the design and implementation of data pipelines using Python and SQL to ingest and process data from various sources.
You will help in administering our data warehouse (Redshift), including managing data access and monitoring performance.
You will assist in implementing and maintaining ETL processes to ensure data consistency and quality.
Monitoring data pipelines under guidance, identifying data inconsistencies, and assisting in troubleshooting issues will be part of your role.
You will work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and ensure availability of required datasets.
Developing basic scripts to automate routine data tasks and improve efficiency is expected.
You will document processes, configurations, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and scalability.
Proactively seeking opportunities to learn new tools and technologies in data engineering is encouraged.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
1-3 years of experience in data engineering or related fields is necessary.
Basic proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting is required.
A fundamental understanding of SQL for querying and managing databases is essential.
Exposure to AWS services like Redshift and Lambda is a plus.
Understanding of ETL concepts and basic data processing is needed.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git is a plus.
Strong desire to learn new technologies and improve skills in data engineering is essential.
Careful attention to data accuracy and code quality is required.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members is necessary.
Good verbal and written communication skills are important.
Basic analytical skills to troubleshoot issues with guidance are required.
Taking ownership of assigned tasks and following through to completion is expected.
Being open to feedback and willing to adjust approaches based on guidance is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts, understanding of data visualization tools, and experience in a fintech or fast-paced startup environment.
