Description:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas sector.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and workflows.
  • You will integrate and manage data from various sources, including third-party applications through RESTful APIs.
  • Transforming and modeling data for analytics and reporting using modern tools and frameworks is also part of the role.
  • You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Implementing best practices for data engineering, including data quality, monitoring, and documentation, is essential.
  • Supporting and optimizing data warehousing and data lake architectures is a key responsibility.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering is required.
  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL is necessary.
  • Experience with RESTful API integrations is required.
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack and its components is essential.
  • Experience with orchestration tools, preferably Airflow, or alternatively Dagster or Prefect, is needed.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing/lake solutions, preferably Snowflake, or alternatively Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery, is required.
  • Experience with data transformation/modeling tools, preferably dbt, or alternatively Coalesce, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with data virtualization or query federation tools, preferably Denodo, or alternatively Trino or Starburst, is required.
  • Experience with data streaming frameworks such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub is necessary.
  • Full-time availability is required.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
