Description:

Veeva Systems is seeking a Data Engineer for their OpenData Commercial team in the Asia Pacific region, specifically in Taipei, Taiwan.
The role involves creating high-quality solutions for complex problems related to data acquisition and integration into existing systems and datasets.
Responsibilities include designing and building reusable and configurable data pipelines using a mix of standard cloud-based and proprietary data platforms.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with a data scientist to develop AI/ML proofs of concept into full implementations.
The position requires creating documentation and providing informal training for data analysts on the configuration and use of tools and pipelines.
The Data Engineer will work with other engineering and product teams to understand proprietary platforms and provide input and feedback.
Guidance will be provided to junior data engineers on best practices.
The role also involves working with security teams to ensure compliance with security requirements for all servers, platforms, and resources.

Requirements:

A BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject is required.
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles.
Experience in developing sophisticated data pipelines in cloud-based environments, such as AWS, using scalable data processing tools like Apache Spark is necessary.
Data modeling experience is required.
The ability to work collaboratively with others, particularly in providing guidance to other data engineers, is essential.
Strong communication skills in English are required to discuss complex ideas and topics with both technical and non-technical individuals.
