Remote Data Engineer (Operations)

Description:

• The Data Engineer (Operations) will be responsible for being a subject matter expert in database management, including backups, testing, and maintenance.
• Enhance and optimize existing databases for peak performance and solve complex technical issues involving multiple technology stacks.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Product Managers to build data products and write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Maintain a high bar for quality and performance of the product with attention to detail and automated testing.
• Participate in on-call duties and respond to high priority incident pager.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of practical experience with Postgres and Azure SQL databases, including query tuning and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash, and other command line utilities.
• Experience in designing high availability and disaster recovery programs and excellent SQL programming skills.
• Ability to contribute to code management in GitHub and advanced knowledge in database administration.
• Familiarity with a variety of databases, cloud applications, and distributed processing technologies.
