Description:

• The Data Platform team is responsible for maintaining and evolving the Data Platform used by Neon for creating processes and analyses to support decision-making, exploring and experimenting with opportunities, and providing visibility into business results and performance.
• The platform offers tools for each area of the company to manage their own data autonomously, enabling efficient and secure information sharing between departments and promoting a collaborative and data-driven culture.
• The Data Engineer will ensure the optimization and maintenance of scalable, efficient, and stable data pipelines.
• The role involves developing and optimizing service and data architectures, ensuring quality and governance.
• Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Business teams at Neon is essential to understand needs and translate them into opportunities for improvements in the Data Platform.
• The Data Engineer will monitor and optimize data ingestion, processing, and storage flows.
• The position requires ensuring the scalability, stability, and observability of the data platform.
• Participation in discussions and decisions regarding platform functionalities, data architecture, and best practices is expected.
• The Data Engineer will act on any incidents to ensure the platform returns to normal operation as quickly as possible, including post-mortem steps and root cause mitigation.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience in infrastructure and architecture of tools dedicated to Data Engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of techniques and best practices for scalability, stability, and observability of platforms is required.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or similar is necessary.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools, large-scale data processing, and data lake architectures is essential.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS), infrastructure as code tools, and container orchestration platforms is required.
