Description:
cBEYONData is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer / Power BI Developer to support the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform effort for a Federal customer.
The role involves analyzing current data and system interfaces, building and maintaining data pipelines, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and supporting IT modernization programmatic activities.
Responsibilities include designing new solutions using Databricks (Python, Pyspark) to meet business functional requirements, developing and updating reports and dashboards using Power BI, and modifying existing data model solutions as needed.
The candidate will promote code into production using Gitlab, define test cases, and verify test results to ensure solutions function as designed.
Building data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems, as well as coordinating with stakeholders to determine reporting requirements and convert business requirements into technical specifications, are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance are required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary.
The candidate must have 4+ years of related work experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.
Hands-on development experience is required, with proficiency in Python and Pyspark.
The candidate must have hands-on experience with developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and experience with configuring Power BI Workspaces and Gateway.
Familiarity with Databricks, developing data pipelines, and workflow automation is needed.
Familiarity with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab is required.
Knowledge of database design and architecture, both relational and non-relational, is necessary.
The ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions is important.
Knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly with commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure), is required.
Competence with software engineering tools and processes, including estimation, issue tracking, version control, and debugging, is necessary.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently on assigned tasks without supervision and have proven experience in knowledge sharing, such as code reviews and solid documentation.
