Remote Data Engineer (Python, ELK) - Remote in Romania

Description:

• The Data Engineer position at Eurofins Scientific involves working in the IT Application Monitoring and Observability team, which supports over 62,000 employees globally.
• Responsibilities include taking ownership of complex tasks, guiding and leading engineering tasks, contributing to Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and consulting with the Security department.
• The role also involves handling feasibility studies, proof of concepts, and reporting directly to the Program Leader.
• The technological stack includes Elastic Stack, MS SQL Server, Octopus, Grafana, and programming languages like Python, C#.NET, and Ruby.
• The position requires experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure on Azure, using IaC with Terraform, and working with NO-SQL databases like Elasticsearch with LogStash.
• Skills in DevOps principles, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, and data visualization techniques are essential.
• Additional qualifications include experience in designing and maintaining data pipelines, understanding Azure services, and familiarity with auto-scaling concepts.

Requirements:

• Experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure and applications on Azure using IaC with Terraform.
• Skills in applying DevOps principles, deploying, monitoring, and operating containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience in working with NO-SQL database (Elasticsearch with LogStash is a must).
• Knowledge in securing IT environments (SSL, certificate management, security concepts like encryptions, hashing etc.).
• Development skills (scripting level in bash, basic Python is nice to have).
• Familiarity with any modeling languages (ex. C4, UML, ArchiMate).
• Data visualization and data storytelling techniques.
• Experience in design and maintaining data pipelines for data analytics.
• Mathematical (statistical) background is an advantage.
• Understanding of Azure services (Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Firewall, Application Gateway, Log Analytics).
• Understanding of auto-scaling concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services.
