Reality Defender is seeking a Data Engineer (Video Data) to enhance video ingestion, processing, and augmentation workflows for deepfake detection models.
The role involves building scalable, high-performance workflows for acquiring, storing, and transforming large-scale video datasets.
Responsibilities include creating scalable pipelines for batch and streaming video data, automating preprocessing, transcoding, and augmentation.
The engineer will optimize video storage, retrieval, and transformation workflows, including compression, metadata extraction, and format conversions.
The position requires expanding video dataset coverage through API integrations, web scraping, and social media ingestion.
Collaboration with machine learning teams is essential to enhance training datasets, support benchmarking efforts, and contribute to synthetic media generation.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field is required.
Candidates must have 3-6+ years of experience in data engineering or a developer role focused on video data.
Strong software development experience in Python or a systems programming language is necessary, along with experience using video processing libraries such as libav or OpenCV.
Experience with video dataset augmentation and processing is required.
Candidates should have experience building systems on cloud infrastructure.
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
