Description:

  • Canibuild automates the residential construction industry’s design, approval, and sales processes, allowing clients to answer 'Can I build this on this plot of land?' instantly.
  • The company is a fast-growing SaaS platform backed by Australia’s largest hedge fund, serving clients across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the US.
  • The role is for a highly skilled Data Engineer / BI Engineer responsible for designing ETL/ELT pipelines, managing databases, and developing dashboards using Power BI.
  • The candidate will handle end-to-end data workflows, from data extraction and transformation to visualization and insights generation.

  • Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Airflow, and SQL in an AWS environment, managing and optimizing data lake and data warehouse solutions on AWS, and developing data-driven dashboards and reports in Power BI.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and database management.
  • Strong expertise in SQL (T-SQL, MS SQL) with a focus on query optimization and database performance tuning is required.
  • Proficiency in Python, including data-specific libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, and experience with Airflow for ETL/ELT processes is necessary.
  • Experience in extracting and managing data from third-party APIs (REST, JSON) is essential.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing data warehouse solutions on AWS is required.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and connecting to SQL Server/PostgreSQL Aurora is necessary.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset is expected.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to think critically and evaluate multiple technical solutions in the broader context of system architecture and business goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and implement alternative solutions are required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment are essential.
  • A willingness to upskill in AI-driven data solutions and contribute to AI-powered applications is necessary.
