Description:

  • This is a remote permanent position for those based in India.
  • The role is for an experienced technical team leader with a focus on Data Engineering.
  • The candidate will translate client project requirements into deliverables and lead the team collaboration to ensure high-quality output within specific timeframes.
  • The position involves working on a variety of projects with Nearform’s clients, helping them translate their business and technical requirements into software applications.
  • The candidate will provide technical and line-management leadership to the development team and take responsibility for successful project delivery.
  • Responsibilities include identifying and resolving blockers, working directly with clients, shaping architectural decisions, and providing project status reports to clients and Nearform leadership.
  • The role requires a hands-on approach with a background in Data Engineering, including skills in Python, SQL, and Databricks, as well as knowledge in DevOps, cloud architecture, and systems integration.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have experience working directly with customers and users.
  • Experience managing software engineering teams is required.
  • A proven track record in developing high-quality software is essential.
  • The candidate should have a deep understanding of agile methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Knowledge of best practices and design patterns is necessary.
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies and tools is required.
  • Proficiency in version control tools, particularly GIT, is essential.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and operational concerns such as monitoring, performance testing, security, accessibility, and GDPR is needed.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices is important.
  • The candidate should have a strong drive to deliver outcomes for customers and possess empathy and people skills.
