Description:
This is a full-time work from home opportunity for a star ETL Data Engineer from LATAM.
IDT Corporation is an American telecommunications company founded in 1990 and headquartered in New Jersey.
The company is an industry leader in prepaid communication and payment services and one of the worldโs largest international voice carriers.
The individual in this role will perform data analysis, ELT/ETL design, and support functions to deliver on strategic initiatives to meet organizational goals.
The role involves providing production support to a legacy telecom system in Oracle db and supporting an existing legacy AbInitio project while learning the business logic for migration to current technologies like Snowflake.
Responsibilities include developing, documenting, and testing ELT/ETL solutions using industry-standard tools such as Snowflake, Denodo Data Virtualization, and Looker.
The engineer will recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability in ELT/ETL development.
The role requires extracting data from multiple sources, integrating disparate data into a common data model, and integrating data into a target database, application, or file using efficient ELT/ETL processes.
Collaboration with Quality Assurance resources to debug ELT/ETL development and ensure timely delivery of products is essential.
The candidate should be willing to explore and learn new technologies and concepts to provide the right kind of solution, with a target and result-oriented mindset and strong end-user focus.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL, Snowflake Data warehouse, ELT/ETL design, Business Intelligence development, and populating data warehouses from heterogeneous OLTP sources.
A BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent industry expertise is required.
Very good or excellent English communication skills are necessary.
The candidate should understand Business Intelligence and Data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Experience with reporting/visualization tools is a plus.
Exposure to standard support ticket management tools like JIRA is required.
Good experience in data analysis, root cause analysis, and proven problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities are essential.
Understanding of Software Engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems in an Agile environment is necessary.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Shell, JavaScript, and HTML5 is a plus.
