Remote Data Infrastructure Engineer

Description:

• The Engineering team at TRACTIAN is focused on developing cutting-edge infrastructure, technologies, and products to leverage IoT data.
• As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and implement single-tenancy database solutions, providing customers with secure control over their data.
• You will transition the multi-tenant infrastructure to a partitioned architecture and optimize SQL performance while resolving complex database challenges.
• Your role will ensure scalable and reliable systems that empower customers with secure solutions and drive innovation.
• Responsibilities include architecting single-tenancy solutions, empowering customer data control, optimizing database performance, developing ETL and synchronization systems, collaborating across teams, documenting processes, and ensuring security and compliance.

Requirements:

• You must be an expert in SQL query design, optimization, indexing, and performance tuning, with extensive experience managing relational databases like PostgreSQL in large-scale environments.
• Expertise with non-SQL databases such as MongoDB is required, along with experience in CDC (Debezium) and data synchronization.
• You should have experience with ETL tools like Spark, Airflow, Pandas, and Polars.
• Knowledge of analytics and integration tools such as Airbyte, Grafana, and Power BI is necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of SQL-focused database engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
• Proven ability to design and manage multi-tenant and single-tenant database models, implement secure virtual partitioning, and optimize schemas for scalability and reliability is essential.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex database issues and develop innovative solutions for data infrastructure challenges are needed.
• Coding skills in languages such as Python and Golang are required.
• Experience in building database systems that enable secure customer access, data control, and compliance with privacy regulations is necessary.
• You should be an effective team player who collaborates with engineering and IT teams and can translate technical database concepts into actionable strategies for stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Python or Bash for automation, cloud database platforms like AWS RDS, and containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes is required.
