Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Data Migration Engineer to join our engineering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing reliable, scalable data migration solutions across systems and databases.
You’ll work closely with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure successful ETL processes and data integrity during large-scale migrations.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing data migration pipelines for relational databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.
You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into structured ETL processes.
The role involves performing complex data mapping, transformation, and validation tasks with precision and attention to detail.
You will develop and maintain Kotlin-based tools and scripts using Gradle for dependency management and build automation.
Utilizing AWS infrastructure (e.g., S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, etc.) to support scalable and secure data operations is essential.
You will ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.
Monitoring and troubleshooting migration processes, optimizing for performance and reliability is part of the job.
You will work in a modern development environment using VSCode or IntelliJ.
Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and consistency is expected.
You will work with a fast-paced agile team through pull requests, scrum ceremonies, and feature documentation.
Requirements:
Must be a United States Citizen.
You should have 3+ years of professional experience in data migration, ETL engineering, or related data-focused roles.
Strong expertise with relational databases, with hands-on experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL is required.
Proficiency in Kotlin and experience with Gradle build systems is necessary.
Experience working in modern IDEs such as VSCode or IntelliJ is expected.
A deep understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and mapping best practices is essential.
Proven ability to work with AWS cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to S3, RDS, ECS, and Lambda is required.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills are necessary.
You should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels, are required.

The pay for this position ranges from $65 to $75 per hour.
