Remote Data Migration Engineer - Database, SQL Expert

Description:

• Join a growing team in a completely remote and flexible role focused on moving and optimizing data.
• As a Data Migration Engineer at Vineskills, you will work directly with team members and clients to scope out their data migration needs.
• You will create scripts, work with SQL to prepare data, and perform large data and document migrations.
• Responsibilities include planning, scoping, and executing data migrations from legacy systems into Filevine.
• You will develop and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Collaborate with clients to understand their data structures and migration needs.
• Perform data mapping, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, escalating when necessary.
• Conduct post-migration testing and quality assurance.
• Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, issues, and resolutions.
• Provide support and training to clients and internal teams on data migration best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Filevine Data Migration Engineer Certification (or willingness to obtain) is required.
• Mid-level Python skills are necessary for this position.
• Familiarity with APIs and integrations is required.
• Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) is essential.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, CloverDX, or custom scripting is required.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex database structures is necessary.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for data-related issues are essential.
• Understanding of data security best practices is required.
• Preferred skills include prior experience in legal case management or CRM data migrations.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Google Cloud, or similar) is a bonus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems (Git, GitLab) is preferred.
• CJIS certification (or willingness to obtain for working with sensitive legal data) is a bonus.

• The salary range is $74,400 - $120,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
