Description:

The company is seeking a DataOps - Data Engineer to join the data team and design scalable data pipelines and transformation systems to process terabytes of data daily.
The role involves creating a robust data governance structure and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant data governance.
Responsibilities include designing and maintaining data governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance with GDPR and CCPA, and developing tools for rapid data product development.
The Data Engineer will create data pipelines in AWS, apply data modeling best practices, and ensure high data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
The position requires collaboration with the DevOps team and championing DataOps practices to promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Staying updated on emerging technologies and evaluating their relevance to Fetch’s strategy is also a key responsibility.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of taking projects from architecture to adoption.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is required, along with the ability to automate data infrastructure management.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data applications is necessary.
Proficiency in the software development lifecycle and experience with data quality tools such as validation and monitoring are essential.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA is required.
Proven experience in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines using modern frameworks such as Apache Spark or Kafka is necessary.
A strong foundation in data architecture principles and proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Go, Python, Java, Rust) and SQL is required.
The candidate should be comfortable presenting and challenging technical decisions in a peer review environment.
An undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant fields such as computer science, Data Science, or Business Analytics is required.
