Description:
Prepared is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to join their platform engineering team in a remote capacity.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics and product features.
Responsibilities include collaborating with various teams to understand data requirements, optimizing data storage solutions, ensuring data quality and security, developing ETL processes, and managing data models for business intelligence.
As an early team member, the engineer will help shape the engineering culture at Prepared.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering with a data focus, data science, or a related role.
Knowledge of designing data pipelines from various sources, including streaming, flat files, and APIs, is required.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, is necessary.
Experience with real-time data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, Pulsar, or Redpanda is essential.
Strong programming skills in data-focused languages, such as Python or Scala, are required.
Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Temporal is needed.
Candidates should have experience with AWS-based data solutions and a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies, particularly Snowflake.
Experience documenting data dependency maps and data lineage is required.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is necessary.
Bonus points for experience in an early-stage startup and familiarity with cloud-agnostic data solutions.
