The role of Data Platform Engineer involves designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure, including data pipelines and data warehouses.
Responsibilities include implementing robust streaming and batch data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Python, ensuring data infrastructure is reliable and secure, and monitoring and improving data infrastructure for high availability.
The engineer will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to streamline data processing for advanced analytics and machine learning, and establish MLOps workflows for seamless deployment of ML models.
The position is remote and full-time, with a focus on driving data strategy and supporting Generative AI and Machine Learning operations.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 3-7 years of experience in software engineering for a data platform or a similar role.
Expertise in Apache Spark for large-scale data processing is required.
Advanced knowledge of production-level Python and strong SQL skills for data manipulation and ETL processes are necessary.
Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis is essential.
Familiarity with MLOps practices, including feature engineering and model serving, is preferred.
Proficiency in Databricks, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Terraform or AWS is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams are important.
An “act-like-an-owner” mentality with a bias toward taking action is expected.
