Description:
Treatwell is seeking a passionate and skilled Data Platform Engineer to join their diverse Data Platform team.
The role involves building and maintaining scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions to support data-driven decisions.
The Data Platform team provides tools and infrastructure for analysts, engineers, and business users to make timely and accurate data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities include managing, building, and leveraging various data tools such as processing pipelines, streaming mechanisms, observability tools, data integrity frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
The engineer will work within a cross-functional Agile team, writing and shipping high-quality code frequently.
The team primarily uses Python and Terraform, with a tech stack that includes open-source platforms like Airbyte, Grafana, and DBT Core.
Services are run on Amazon AWS technologies including ECS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, Redshift, S3, EMR, and Secrets Manager, along with third-party tools like Fivetran, Looker, and Slack.
Key tasks include collaborating to build a robust data platform, managing data platform infrastructure and security, overseeing Redshift Data Warehouse performance, and ensuring observability of data pipelines.
The engineer will also partner with data product managers, support analytics engineers, align infrastructure design with best practices, and contribute to the strategy of the Data Platform.
Requirements:
Experience with data integration tools, preferably Airbyte, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
Proficiency in Python, with experience in building scalable data tools and adhering to test-driven development using Docker.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ideally on AWS.
Familiarity with GitLab CI and complex CI/CD pipeline management.
Experience managing data platform infrastructure, including maintaining Redshift or similar data warehouses.
Knowledge of monitoring and visualization tools like Prometheus and Grafana for platform observability.
Strong emphasis on creating technical documentation for cross-functional alignment and knowledge sharing.
A strong team player who excels in Agile, high-performance teams and can articulate complex technical matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Passion for contributing to the broader data platform strategy and aligning technical initiatives with business objectives.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities focused on resolving complex technical issues.
