Description:
The position is for a Data Platform Engineer at Apollo, which is a remote role available to candidates in the United States or Canada.
The engineer will lead cross-organizational features and work on a variety of data-related tasks, including collecting data on product usage, understanding business operations, and empowering go-to-market strategies.
The role involves leveraging an existing data lake/warehouse to drive strategic decisions for the product, business, and users.
The engineer will collaborate with talented Platform Engineers and contribute to a culture that values efficient code and forward-thinking designs.
Responsibilities include becoming a key contributor to the team, leading medium to large impact initiatives, interviewing potential teammates, creating technical designs, and delivering various technical artifacts.
The engineer will work with tools and technologies such as BigQuery, Airflow, Kafka, DBT, and Kubernetes to improve data access across the company.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering, platform engineering, data science, analytics, or a related field.
Expertise in systems architecture, particularly in stateless, fault-tolerant systems, and familiarity with event-driven patterns and distributed paradigms is required.
Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and executing large-scale data projects is essential.
Proficiency with SQL, GitOps, DBT, BigQuery, Kafka, Postgres, and ELT Data Pipelines is necessary.
A builder's mindset with a willingness to question assumptions and challenge conventional wisdom is expected.
Bonus points for experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, infrastructure as code tools, and knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $126,650 - $160,175 per year, along with equity options.

This is a fully remote position, allowing employees to work from anywhere in the US or Canada.
