Description:
We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Data Science Engineer to join our team and help eliminate the financial complexity of healthcare.
The role involves working cross-functionally with Product and subject matter experts to conceptualize, prototype, and build data solutions.
You will connect disparate datasets (e.g., claims, contract rates, demographics data) to empower internal and external clients.
The position requires applying evolving industry standard data science techniques and toolkits to analyses and communicating results via reports and visualizations.
You will contribute to building and maintaining data pipelines and draft internal and external technical documentation.
Seeking and prioritizing technical and product feedback from internal customers is essential.
The role requires iterating quickly with an eye towards value.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/knowledge is required; we are open to strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds.
You must have 2+ years of demonstrated experience developing custom data models and pipelines, and distributing them in digestible end products.
An understanding of data, analytics, and machine learning is necessary, along with previous experience working with big, messy data sets and data processing pipelines.
Experience working with a technical team and contributing to a production development environment is required.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential.
You should possess expert communication and visualization skills for data aimed at clients and internal stakeholders.
An entrepreneurial mindset is important; you should prioritize tasks with an eye for evolving business needs and be able to problem solve independently.
The ability to work effectively in a remote environment is required.
