Description:
We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Data Science Engineer to join our team and help eliminate the financial complexity of healthcare.
The role involves working cross-functionally with Product and subject matter experts to conceptualize, prototype, and build data solutions.
You will connect disparate datasets such as claims, contract rates, and demographics data to empower internal and external clients.
The position requires applying evolving industry standard data science techniques and toolkits to analyses and communicating results via reports and visualizations.
You will contribute to building and maintaining data pipelines and draft internal and external technical documentation.
Seeking and prioritizing technical and product feedback from internal customers is essential.
The role demands iterating quickly with an eye towards value.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/knowledge is required; we welcome strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds.
You should have 3+ years of experience in revenue cycle or healthcare consulting in a technical/analytical role.
In-depth knowledge of payer-provider contracting, reimbursement mechanisms, claims pricing, hospital revenue cycle, and factors contributing to the cost of healthcare is necessary.
A minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated experience developing custom data models and pipelines, and distributing them in digestible end products is required.
Understanding of data, analytics, and machine learning is essential, along with previous experience working with big, messy data sets and data processing pipelines.
Experience working with a technical team and contributing to a production development environment is needed.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is required.
You must have expert communication and visualization skills for data aimed at clients and internal stakeholders.
An entrepreneurial mindset is essential; you should prioritize tasks with an eye for evolving business needs and be able to problem solve independently.
The ability to work effectively in a remote environment is necessary.
