Description:

  • This is a 4-month contract position working remotely from January to April 2025 on a full-time basis.
  • As a data scientist at Pelmorex, you will work on diverse projects across various business units.
  • Projects include product demand forecasting based on weather, utilizing Deep Learning for weather prediction, and developing ad-tech solutions for improved audience targeting and advanced location insights.
  • Daily responsibilities include applying machine learning at scale in revenue-generating projects, developing innovative algorithms for audience targeting and weather-based demand forecasting, and creating visualizations to make data accessible.
  • You will utilize advancements in GenAI to produce client-facing summaries that monetize prediction algorithms.
  • The role involves contributing to development best practices, experimenting with new ideas, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify creative data targeting solutions.

Requirements:

  • You must have 2+ years of data science experience in the industry.
  • A strong understanding of statistics, including probability theory, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data modeling is required.
  • You should have a solid understanding of machine learning concepts and their applications in classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
  • Experience in developing machine learning solutions, including preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, training, validation, and deployment is necessary.
  • A good foundation in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and analyzing data to support machine learning initiatives is required.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including knowledge of relevant libraries such as pandas, numpy, stats models, scikit-learn, and tensorflow, are preferred.
  • Experience with distributed computing environments, such as Apache Spark, is necessary.
  • Skills in graphical data visualization tools like Google Looker or Matplotlib are required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in developing Deep Learning solutions in industry or research is preferred, especially with large datasets requiring distributed data frameworks.
