Description:

This is a 4-month contract position working remotely from January to April 2025 on a full-time basis.
As a data scientist at Pelmorex, you will work on diverse projects across various business units.
Projects include product demand forecasting based on weather, utilizing Deep Learning for weather prediction, and developing ad-tech solutions for improved audience targeting and advanced location insights.
Daily responsibilities include applying machine learning at scale in revenue-generating projects, developing innovative algorithms for audience targeting and weather-based demand forecasting, and creating visualizations to make data accessible.
You will utilize advancements in GenAI to produce client-facing summaries that monetize prediction algorithms.
The role involves contributing to development best practices, experimenting with new ideas, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify creative data targeting solutions.

Requirements:

You must have 2+ years of data science experience in the industry.
A strong understanding of statistics, including probability theory, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data modeling is required.
You should have a solid understanding of machine learning concepts and their applications in classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
Experience in developing machine learning solutions, including preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, training, validation, and deployment is necessary.
A good foundation in SQL for data manipulation, querying, and analyzing data to support machine learning initiatives is required.
Strong programming skills in Python, including knowledge of relevant libraries such as pandas, numpy, stats models, scikit-learn, and tensorflow, are preferred.
Experience with distributed computing environments, such as Apache Spark, is necessary.
Skills in graphical data visualization tools like Google Looker or Matplotlib are required.
Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
Experience in developing Deep Learning solutions in industry or research is preferred, especially with large datasets requiring distributed data frameworks.
