The Data Scientist will play a critical role in uncovering insights that drive the data product strategy.
Responsibilities include analyzing shipping data to identify opportunities for new product features and improvements, investigating trends in carrier performance, delivery times, shipping costs, and user behavior.
The role involves exploring patterns in label creation, package tracking, and insurance attachment rates.
The Data Scientist will build data-driven prototypes, such as predictive delivery estimates and cost-saving tools.
Presenting findings clearly to Product and Engineering teams to inform product strategy is essential.
The position requires developing and maintaining self-serve dashboards in Sigma for internal teams and customers, ensuring they are accurate, performant, and user-friendly.
Collaboration with Engineering to improve data pipelines and data models is necessary.
The Data Scientist will support A/B testing and experiments with statistical analysis, interpret experiment results, and provide actionable recommendations.
Responding to ad hoc data requests from marketing, sales, and customer success is part of the role.
Proficiency in SQL and Python is required for analyzing data from multiple sources and synthesizing insights into clear business recommendations.
The Data Scientist will collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to implement analytics in production and communicate analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field is required.
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets is essential.
Experience with BI tools such as Sigma, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar is necessary.
Practical application of data wrangling, data cleaning, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) is required.
The ability to translate business questions into structured analytical problems is important.
Candidates should be willing to take on a wide range of tasks, big or small, to drive business success.
Understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques to extract deeper insights from data is required.
Proficiency with Python for data analysis is necessary.
Knowledge of A/B testing and experiment analysis is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
Excellent communication skills are required to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with Databricks is considered a bonus.
