Description:

• K1x is the leading data distribution platform for alternative investments, focused on digitizing the K-1 ecosystem.
• The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Data Scientist to join their dynamic team.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural language processing (NLP) and extensive experience with unstructured and semi-structured data, such as financial statements and tax documents.
• The Staff Data Scientist will develop and implement machine learning models to enhance the software’s ability to process partnership accounting and tax documents accurately and efficiently.
• The role involves developing and optimizing machine learning models for parsing, extracting, and categorizing data in PDF tax documents.
• The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into software products.
• Statistical analysis will be applied to identify signals, trends, and insights that inform product development.
• The Staff Data Scientist will also mentor and guide junior data scientists and team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Requirements:

• A Masters’ or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is required.
• The candidate must have 6+ years of relevant industry experience as a data scientist, focusing on NLP/NLU projects.
• Demonstrated experience in leading end-to-end data science project implementations is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills are required, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical results to senior leaders and nontechnical audiences.
• Proficiency in Python and a strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, spaCy, and Huggingface, is necessary.
• Preferred experience includes previous applications of NLP to financial documents, familiarity with alternative investment accounting needs, and experience deploying machine learning models using containerization and orchestration technologies.
