Description:

The company is seeking a Data Scientist Manager to join their rapidly expanding team.
The primary responsibilities of the Data Scientist Manager include credit and fraud risk management along with analytics for Product and Marketing teams.
This is a ‘hands-on’ analytics role that drives significant results and key insights by leveraging a unique mix of credit, transaction, and payment data.
The ideal candidate will independently analyze data to solve challenging business problems and help build a leading risk management infrastructure and strategy.
Responsibilities include proposing, implementing, and analyzing testing to enhance key features of the credit risk framework, creating strategies to identify and mitigate fraud risk, partnering with data providers, executing A/B testing experiments, developing proprietary credit models, and executing credit and fraud risk tracking.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field is required, with a Master’s Degree preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Data Scientist role at a lending organization such as a Fintech, bank, or credit union is required.
Prior experience with large complex time series datasets at a financial institution is necessary.
Experience in first line of defense credit or fraud risk management at a Fintech, BNPL, or Small Business Lending is a plus.
Experience utilizing consumer and commercial credit bureau score and tradeline data to enhance credit strategies is required.
Deep hands-on experience in data analysis, including writing code using tools such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, SAS, or equivalent is necessary.
Experience in financial modeling to determine business cost-benefit results from A/B testing is required.
Strong communication skills are essential to influence key stakeholders, including executive management and partner teams.
A team player attitude with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and handle ambiguity is required.
