Remote Data Scientist

Description:

• We currently have a vacancy for a Data Scientist fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely.
• The successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team.
• Responsibilities include the development, maintenance, and documentation of software, mostly in Python, focusing on implementing and testing data analytics applications, data engineering, and data collection tools.
• The candidate will participate in data science projects led by scientific staff and assume responsibility for software engineering tasks, including requirement analysis, software development testing, and documentation.
• The role involves debugging complex software in Python and troubleshooting aspects related to the deployment of software.
• The candidate will design and implement robust data pipelines for the ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and storage of diverse data sources.
• Participation in project update and review meetings and other meetings with project stakeholders is also required.

Requirements:

• A university degree in IT or a relevant discipline is required, combined with a minimum of 17 years of relevant working experience in IT.
• The candidate must have the ability to design and implement robust data pipelines for the ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and storage of diverse data sources.
• Strong experience in testing software, including frameworks for defining and automating software tests, such as regression testing and negative testing, is necessary.
• Excellent software development skills are required, particularly experience implementing Python libraries, software, and services.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing best practices for software testing, from unit and component testing to user acceptance, including negative testing and stress tests, is essential to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Experience deploying software tools and services, including the definition of APIs, using DevOps tools and practices, and CI/CD practices, e.g., in Gitlab or similar environments, is required.
• The candidate should have experience in debugging complex software in Python and troubleshooting aspects related to the deployment of software and using GPU hardware.
• Experience in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent for the deployment and scaling of data science applications is necessary.
• Any training or certification related to data science and machine learning will be considered an asset.
• An excellent command of the English language is required.
