Description:
ZestyAI is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Data Science and Machine Learning team.
The role involves scaling the development of top-tier models by leveraging diverse data sources and providing valuable insights.
Responsibilities include exploring data sources and developing new Property Tech and InsurTech models using data science, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
The Data Scientist will implement deep learning algorithms and architectures to extract insights from aerial imagery, satellite imagery, and geospatial data.
The position requires researching and modeling aspects of property risk utilizing various data sources.
The Data Scientist will lead the development of high-quality datasets for robust model training and evaluation.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to understand requirements and translate them into actionable data science questions.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 2-3 years of experience applying machine learning techniques, particularly in computer vision applications and predictive modeling.
A BA, BS, or BEng degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related fields is required; an MS degree or Ph.D. is a bonus.
A strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and AI principles is necessary.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing deep learning and/or machine learning models are required.
Experience in deploying predictive or deep learning models in production environments is essential.
Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, as well as related libraries like OpenCV, Pillow, Matplotlib, and Plotly, is required.
Understanding of data preprocessing and augmentation techniques for large-scale image datasets is a plus, especially with aerial or satellite imagery.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker) is necessary.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows is required.
Experience working with SQL and BigQuery is essential.
Candidates must possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and management skills with experience in implementing best practices and processes are required.
Strong communication skills are necessary.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
