Description:

Literati is a modern children’s book company focused on helping kids fall in love with reading at every age and stage.
The Data Scientist will focus on inventory and personalization, influencing which books enter the collection and how they reach children.
Responsibilities include developing and deploying machine learning models to optimize inventory decisions, personalize book selections for schools, and predict inventory movement.
This is a full-stack data science position where the individual will own problems from ideation through production and validation, building solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
The salary band for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000, and it is classified as exempt, not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements:

An advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience using data science tools to solve impactful business problems is necessary.
A passion for making a positive impact on children's education is essential.
Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining production machine learning systems is preferred.
Knowledge of retail business models or inventory optimization is a plus.
A strong ability to make decisions with complex or uncertain objectives is desired.
