Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Data & AI team. This role is essential to BHub's strategy and requires a solid understanding of statistical modeling techniques, machine learning, and natural language processing.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Tech Managers, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts.
The goal is to work on value-generating projects alongside technical and business areas, as well as co-create BHub's ML and AI platforms with the rest of the team.
Responsibilities include solving complex problems with undefined answers that directly impact critical business areas, influencing and guiding the data team in the evolution of AI infrastructure, proposing, implementing, and validating machine learning models for various purposes, and developing and maintaining code, models, and artifacts as part of reusable machine learning libraries.
The candidate will also conduct exploratory data analyses and opportunity analyses, creating data-driven narratives to support business objectives and justify proposed solutions.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in data science or similar fields.
A Master's or PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or related fields is required, or a total of 5+ years of experience in modeling.
Extensive and deep experience in statistics and machine learning, including both theoretical and practical aspects, is necessary.
Knowledge or familiarity with the theoretical foundations of classical techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, random forests, boosted decision trees, regularization techniques, feedforward neural networks, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, transformers, various embedding generation techniques, and unsupervised learning techniques is required.
Solid programming experience in Python (including good knowledge of algorithms and data structures), data extraction languages like SQL, familiarity with distributed computing (such as Spark), and version control (Git) is essential.
Demonstrable experience with one or more machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost, LightGBM, etc., is required.
Familiarity with Databricks is preferred.
Additional points for experience with NLP and NLU.
Additional points for the ability to read, explain, and apply knowledge from scientific articles in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Advanced English for reading is required.
