Remote Data Scientist

Description:

• K1x is the leading data distribution platform for alternative investments, focused on digitizing the K-1 ecosystem.
• The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Data Scientist to join their dynamic team.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural language processing (NLP) and extensive experience with unstructured and semi-structured data, such as financial statements and tax documents.
• The Staff Data Scientist will develop and implement machine learning models to enhance the software’s ability to process partnership accounting and tax documents accurately and efficiently.
• Responsibilities include developing and optimizing machine learning models for parsing and extracting data from PDF tax documents, collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying statistical analysis for product development, and mentoring junior data scientists.

Requirements:

• A PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field (e.g., data science, mathematics, statistics) or equivalent experience is required.
• Candidates must have 6+ years of professional experience in an analytics-focused role, such as data science, machine learning, or quantitative research.
• A strong programming background in Python and experience with machine learning libraries, such as PyTorch, is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in building machine learning models in a business setting is necessary.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical results to senior leaders and nontechnical audiences are crucial.
