The Data Scientist role is a 1-year fixed-term contract focused on training, deploying, debugging, and evaluating fraud detection models.
The ideal candidate should be pragmatic, approachable, and knowledgeable, with the ability to use judgment in ambiguous fraud cases.
Responsibilities include building model evaluation and training infrastructure, developing and deploying new fraud detection models, writing new features, researching techniques to disrupt fraud, and investigating model performance issues.
The Detection team is responsible for maintaining low fraud rates and ensuring client satisfaction through continuous model training and deployment.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience building and deploying machine learning models using the Python data stack, including numpy, pandas, and sklearn.
A strong understanding of software engineering best practices, such as version control, unit tests, code reviews, and CI/CD, is required.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues outside of the immediate team are essential.
Candidates should be skilled at communicating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
The ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively is necessary.
Comfort in working with a hybrid team is required.
Nice to haves include experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ML production infrastructure, TensorFlow, deep learning, dbt, and programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java.
