Description:
Murmuration is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing civic engagement through data, digital tools, and research-driven insights.
The Data Scientist will engage in "full-stack" data science, managing projects from ideation to implementation.
Responsibilities include executing data science projects, developing campaign data science models, exploring datasets for insights, transforming data into actionable insights, and collaborating with the engineering team to implement data science products.
The role requires participation in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) programming.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a focus on producing models and analytics for business applications.
A solid understanding of advanced data science techniques, machine learning algorithms, and optimization methods is essential.
Experience with predictive analytics and building machine learning models is required.
Familiarity with voter file data and campaign data science is necessary.
Knowledge of data engineering and data pipelines is preferred.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL, as well as version control using Git, is required.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and a preference for rapid prototyping and iteration are important.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders is essential.

The position offers a full-time, salaried role with a starting salary range of $95,000 - $125,000, based on experience.
