Description:
The Data Scientist II will work with local affiliates/labels, international teams, and Global Technology to understand trends and dynamics driving major streaming services from the perspective of fans and listeners of WMG music.
The role involves creating expert-level insights into audience behavior by establishing best practices for data that captures music listening preferences, gauging the impact of marketing initiatives and campaigns on listeners, and comprehensively understanding and predicting listener behavior.
The Data Scientist will work with quantitative data to coordinate with labels, analysts, and other business stakeholders on the delivery of reporting and inference.
Responsibilities include developing new forecasting and audience targeting procedures and communicating findings and insights to key stakeholders to establish best practices and guide analysis into action and results.
The position requires transforming data into stories through tailor-made presentations and developing new hypothesis testing and decision-making for real-time assessment of audience viewing patterns and performance of music delivery streams.
The Data Scientist will interact with data engineering teams to identify the data needs for mathematical models.
Requirements:
A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is required, along with 2 years of experience in the position offered or a related field.
The candidate must have 2 years of experience working with R, Python, and SQL.
Experience using advertising data to build marketing mix models to measure the incremental impact of ads and campaigns is necessary, utilizing techniques like multi-linear regression and Hierarchical Bayes.
The candidate should have experience gathering and analyzing audience data and using targeting models, including propensity scoring and look-alike modeling, to develop actionable insights into audience behavior while deploying machine learning models into a production environment.
Strong communication skills are required, specifically in conveying technical concepts using data visualizations (using libraries such as matplotlib or ggplot2) and preparing written presentations of technical concepts for a non-technical, business stakeholder audience.
