Description:
The Data Scientist will be embedded within Wealthfront’s Marketing team, which focuses on acquiring new clients and increasing brand awareness.
Responsibilities include designing and executing targeted advertising campaigns for Wealthfront products.
Potential projects include campaign performance analysis, paths to conversion, incrementality estimation, media mix modeling, client segmentation, AB Experiment design, and client revenue modeling.
The role requires the ability to translate business problems into mathematical language and communicate results effectively to the broader team.
The Data Scientist will provide hands-on technical leadership to a team of data scientists in the Marketing area.
The position involves collaborating with the Marketing team to define quarterly and yearly initiatives and turning these initiatives into projects with clear rationale and milestones.
The Data Scientist will execute planned projects through hands-on work and delegation, tracking project priority and progress in weekly meetings.
The role requires articulating technical information, including assumptions, methodologies, and outcomes to specialists across disciplines.
Requirements:
A Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or Natural Sciences, with 4-8 years of prior experience as a Data Scientist is required.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is necessary.
A strong foundation in practical Statistics, including the use of causal inference, is essential.
Strong mathematical and software engineering skills are required.
Fluency in both long and short form oral and written communication is necessary.
The ability to sharpen or reframe project requirements through effective collaboration is important.
A strong desire and ability to mentor junior Data Scientists by exemplifying math, engineering, and technical communication skills is required.
Experience in a Marketing facing role is preferred but not required.
Benefits:
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $164,000 - $211,000 USD, plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
