Remote Data Scientist (PhD)

Description:

• We are looking for a Data Scientist that will help us uncover the information hidden in vast amounts of structured and unstructured data, and assist in making smarter decisions to solve business problems.
• The primary focus is on applying data mining techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems integrated with our solutions.
• Responsibilities include enhancing data collection procedures to include relevant information for building analytic systems.
• The role involves processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
• You will define approaches for data mining and extend the company's data with third-party sources of information when needed.
• The position requires performing ad-hoc analysis and R&D involving operating heterogeneous data sets.
• You will also be responsible for creating automated anomaly detection systems and constantly tracking their performance.

Requirements:

• A PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or other related fields is required.
• Candidates must have real-world experience in solving business problems using machine learning, data mining, and data analysis.
• A data-oriented personality is essential for this role.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms is necessary.
• Experience with common data science toolkits such as R, Weka, NumPy, and MatLab is required.
• Great communication skills are a must for effective collaboration.
• Experience with data visualization tools is also necessary.
• Good applied statistics skills, including knowledge of distributions, statistical testing, and regression, are required.
