Wealthsimple is seeking a Data Scientist for their Product Data Science team, which focuses on delivering measurement tools and predictive analytics to support data-driven decision making.
The team consists of data scientists and analytics developers with diverse educational backgrounds, including math, operations research, economics, computer science, engineering, and business.
The role involves partnering with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams to support high-priority efforts.
Responsibilities include designing and executing experiments to evaluate new product features, applying statistical techniques, and building machine learning models to solve product problems.
The Data Scientist will translate business requirements into data models and analyses, build robust data models in a cloud data warehouse, and apply software best practices to the analytics code base.
The position is remote-first, allowing candidates to work from anywhere in Canada.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess strong business acumen and product sense.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is required, along with experience using popular Python libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, and Jupyter.
A strong understanding of statistics, including both frequentist and Bayesian approaches, is necessary.
