Remote Data Scientist, R&D

Description:

• Eight Sleep is the first sleep fitness company, focusing on innovative technology and design to enhance sleep quality.
• The company is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work with human data in the consumer wellness or digital health space.
• The role involves improving core data intelligence features, conducting exploratory data analysis, generating user-facing insights, and publishing findings.
• The Data Scientist will collaborate with Product, Software, and Marketing teams to productionize features.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of industry experience as a data scientist is necessary, including:
  • At least 1 year of experience working with time-series human physiology data.
  • A minimum of 2 years of machine learning experience, covering both classical techniques and deep learning.
  • At least 2 years of experience applying statistics to real-world data.
• Proficiency in Python or R, with the ability to run common statistical tests such as t-tests, ANOVA, multiple regression, and linear mixed models is essential.
• Experience with data visualization tools like plotly, seaborn, ggplot2, or matplotlib is required.
• Knowledge of SQL and GitHub is necessary.
• Experience in shipping features into production is a must.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential.
